Download This.
It will update your Version to 1.0.1.0
Install pointing the installation to your L4D Root Directory
(mine is located in E:\Program Files\Left 4 Dead\)

Download This.
It will do a mini update from 1.0.1.0 to 1.0.1.1
Once again pointing it to your L4D root Directory.

Download This.
Install to Root Directory.

Start the game through Garena.

Open the console.

Type map l4d_ and a map listing will show up
(isint the console great?)

For a VS select a map with VS in its name
(l4d_vs_hospital01_apartment.bsp)

For Coop select a map without VS
(l4d_hospital01_apartment.bsp)

Once the map is loaded Go to the Console again and type net_status
(you should see something in the console that reads “Net status for host 192.168.29.***”)

Copy the IP
(which would be 192.168.29.***)
And paste it in Garena along with the game type (coop or VS) and the Game Version (if you refuse to update)

Connecting

Start the game through Garena

Open your console

Type connect 192.168.29.***

If Jean-bob was hosting and his ip was 195.264.48.6 then you would type: connect 195.264.48.6

In a VS match its so much faster to talk and plan out attacks and defence.

Access the Console with the Tilda Key on your Keyboard

Either you or the Host needs to update.

Invalid protocol, expecting 1010, got 1011 Means you are running 1.0.1.0 and the server is running 1.0.1.1

Thus you need to update.

If it is the other way around

Invalid protocol, expecting 1011, got 1010

The host needs to update .

Map Errors

If you get a Map error Check with the host to see if they are using a custom map.

If they are they may be nice enough to provide a link to the map.

Steam Error
Steam doesent need to be running.

Just install the standalone Patch located here.

Point it to your L4D root Directory.
(once again mine is located at E:\Program Files\Left 4 Dead\)
